What does W3 stand for?  It is “Women Warmly Welcome”; not “Wild Women on Wednesdays” or even “Wine, Wine, Wine”, although we are known to have fun and indulge in the occasional glass of wine!

The group was formed 10 years ago, and its aim is to provide a focus point to allow women to meet and engage in thought provoking educational and challenging opportunities, sharing experiences and providing support and friendship to each other and the wider community.  Each year we nominate one or two charities to support and after agreement with membership at AGM we donate money to the charities and also give a donation to Holy Saviour's Church.

We arrange speakers for our meetings, ranging from “A Day in the Life of an Environmental Health Officer”, through “Sixty Years in Tynemouth”, “My day at a Tudor Wedding” to “Walking With – support for refugees and asylum seekers”.  Each year we hold social events, which is a lot of fun and our Christmas event is a Faith Supper with games and quizzes.  In December, instead of organising a bran-tub amongst ourselves, we give presents for those less fortunate than ourselves.

We meet on the first Wednesday of the month in the Parish Centre at 7.15 pm, and as our name implies, any woman is warmly welcome.  Why not come along and join us one evening?
